On a chilly February morning, I was at my university desk in Lugano studying Economics when I looked out the window at the snow-covered mountains and the shimmering lake below and realised those four walls would never make sense to me. That was the last morning I spent there. What happened next?

I’m 23. But my story on this lake started long before I was born. My family has been here for generations. I’ve been on boats since I was four, driving them since I was sixteen. The lake isn’t a backdrop for me it’s home. The real kind, the kind you carry in your body. 
So I came back. Not to start a business. To reclaim a life.
I chose the Colombo Superindios because it’s the honest boat of Lake Como. The original. The one that’s been trusted on these waters for over fifty years by Lady Diana, by Clooney, by people who know the difference between style and substance. I chose it for the same reason: safety first, soul second, aesthetics a distant third. 

I’m not a tour operator. I’m not a guide. I’m the local friend you didn’t know you had here.

I’ll take you where the water is calmest and the crowds aren’t. I’ll show you to the hidden corners I grew up in, share the family stories that don’t make it into guidebooks, and stop wherever feels right for a photo, a meal, or a drink. When the day-trippers head back to the hotels, the lake transforms. The water stills, the light turns golden, and the noise disappears. That is when we go out. With candles lit and the music set, we claim the quietest zones of the lake for ourselves. Whether it’s an anniversary or just a Tuesday that deserves to be special—some evenings are worth doing properly. Push: Dress code? Up to you.

I didn’t choose the Colombo for aesthetics. I chose it because it’s right. Most boats you’ll find on Lake Como are chosen by operators for one reason: availability. The Colombo Superindios was chosen by me for entirely different ones. Colombo is the original Lake Como manufacturer. Not imported, not adapted born here, designed specifically for these waters, these currents, this weather. When conditions change on the lake  and they do, fast  you want a boat that was built with that in mind. I chose fibreglass over wood deliberately. Wooden boats are beautiful. They’re also €20,000 a year in maintenance, more vulnerable in rough water, and more likely to leave you stranded mid-lake while your captain apologises. Fibreglass is safer, more durable, and more honest. I’d rather spend that money on your experience than on keeping the hull together.

  • In case of bad weather, the captain decides whether to reschedule the booking or refund it.
